I just noticed while watching TTT again that when Haldir (yes I pay special attention to his every move) arrived at Helm's Deep with the Host, he was clearly NOT carrying a bow, just a sword. But during the battle, he somehow got a hold of a bow ... and AFTER his part of the battle, before and when he was dying he didn't have a bow on him *AGAIN* ... is that weird or what?

I never noticed that! I think if you pay special attention to any character, something odd will come up. Good question nonetheless, where did he get that bow? I can imagine he got rid of it later on during the fight. It's only in the way when it comes to man-to-man fighting.

Yeah true ... but still .. where did he get it in the first place? I asked someone before and all they said was that maybe some other Elf carried it for him ... but then they should have shown us the Elf... :/

I never noticed either I'd watch it and see but all I have left is my RotK movie. Lending the first two preciousess out was torture, but it's a fair price to pay to have people know what I'm talking about..

See sis, only YOU are that obsessed lol. Yeah, i found that rather strange. And did you notice that when the front of the elven lines marched past the gate Haldir wasn't leading them? ANd when they reach the stairs he just appears at the head of the line? Another thing, why would a scout of Lothlorien suddenly be in charge of the host of Eldar? No disresepct to Haldir intended but it seems strange.

Hmm ... about Haldir leading the host, my sis noticed that at the beginning too, but I figured that he could possibly be in the front ... we just can't see him cos they're passing under an opening where there's a huge shadow.
And about the scout thing, there was supposed to be a scene with him conversing with Galadriel, Celeborn and Elrond ... and in that scene, they send him to the battle, but they deleted that scene entirely ... even from the extended. If that scene remained, I'm sure we would have been clearer on that.

O, that explains that! I always wondered why Haldir of Lothlórien was bringing word from Elrond of Rivendell... They should make a extended extended edition!

^ Yes, they should have. I think I read that Elrond and Haldir wanted to go to the aid of the people of Rohan while Celeborn and Galadriel were more cautious.
Anyway, I never noticed the bow issue. Good catch Haldir!

Yeah ... they SHOULD make an extended extended ... less people would be confuzzled and yeah that sorta explains, Raina ... I would have guessed that Galadriel and Celeborn were the more cautious ones ... nice point!

Here is part of a quote explaining the scene.
“Their principle advocate was Haldir of Lothlorien, who was one of the most senior wardens guarding the Golden Wood from attack. He persuaded the diffident Galadriel and Celeborn-with support from Elrond, even though many of the Elves of Rivendell, including his beloved Arwen, were departing for the Gray Havens-that the Men of Rohan, and the race of Men in general, should not be abandoned in their hour of need. With their permission, Haldir rallied two hundred of the Elves of Lothlorien to join him, and together they marched to Helm’s Deep bearing the banners of their Lady Galadriel, arriving just ahead of the approaching Uruk-hai army.”

It does. I want to cry though. He's my second favourite elf after my precious Legolas!
