We are reading the book "Eragon" In school and we plan to see the movie for a field trip next month when it comes out. Here is the trailer: youtube.com/watch?v=OISmH4-DeygThe book is pretty interesting, I've noticed that alot of things in it are similar to LOTR though. Such as the elves crossing the sea, entering the land "Eragon" is based in. It is about this boy named Eragon that finds a stone that turns out being a dagon egg. The character Brom is very similar to Gandalf, A Wise story teller, and Eragon, so far, reminds me of Frodo. The part in the book we are on at the moment is very similar to LOTR. Its about these 2 figures dressed in black searching through town for the dragon egg, asking people about it. This reminds me of the Nazgul searching the shire for the ring. Anyways, The book is pretty good so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, though I know for a fact it won't be as good as LOTR.

Its funny, each time when I first catch a glimpse of a picture for the new Eragon movie, I keep thinking its a new LOTR . I don't know why, but yeah...Thats how much it reminds me of that lol. I'm thinking about seeing Eragon...not sure yet. I know it should be cool movie to get into, and I'm sure it'll be a movie that I'd really like. But Your right, theres no way it'd be better than LOTR.

I googled Eragon and there are areas where people are saying, its a rid off of Star Wars. I dunno about that. What do You guys think?

There are some similarities, But I don't think Eragon is a rip off of Star Wars. Everything is a rip off of something if you look at every little detail. Though some of the similarities between Eragon and LOTR are quite large. Maybe Tolkien's works helped inspire the writer of Eragon to write it.

Arg the annoying thing about Eragon was it was waaaaay to much like LOTR. The only real difference is that there are good dragons, like Sapphira. The Fell Beasts resembled dragons, I suppose you could say. But I liked Eragon. It wasn't extremely original but I liked it.

The only thing I thought was similar to Lord of the Rings was the characters and locations' names.
I'm watching the movie today after school at 3:50.. it's bound to be good.. well I hope it is! I am so excited!!
