Okay so I just came home from watching it a second ago.. all the events went by pretty quickly and naturally, a lot of events were taken out. Like.. when Eragon saves Arya, he just randomly disguised himself to get into the dungeon.. and when he went to her, she was conscious "Eragon.. you shouldn't have come.. leave, now!" And Brom dies in the dungeon when Durza was trying to hurl a blade at Eragon, and Brom jumps in front of Eragon and takes the blade to his chest. It was kind of.. different. Arya was conscious and talking when they brought her out of the dungeon, and there wasn't one moment when she was unconscious. There were loads of different things.. Katrina never existed in the movie and Eragon didn't know Brom until his uncle died. It was all a mix up, but it worked out.
Also, the only addition that I liked was when Saphira wanted Brom to die a Rider, so she takes him in the air on her back and let him die riding her.. it was so sweet, I was crying!

The third is called inheritance. Isn't that what the entire trilogy is called?

Well I found not so good as Haldy said too. Everything happened so quickly and finished so quickly. When I understood the whole movie what it is on. The movie ended so it was a mix-up really since my head is mixed up so much. Anyway, why Brom died at the end??

WEll, not to be rude or anything, i really didnt like it! I thought it would have been better. My favorite part, much like Haldir's was when Saphira took Brom into the sky. I do have to say that it was pretty awesome!

Did yall know that the books were written by a 17 year old homeschooler in Colorado or somewhere? It sounds interesting to me, but I don't want to see the movie till I read the books. I regret that I didn't draw the LotR characters before I saw the movies, so I want to do the same with this fantasy movie, you know?

^Yeah I know what you mean.. and yeah it's really cool! The thing is, his parents own the company that published his book, so that could be the only reason why they were published...

Sadly, I haven't seen the movie yet...I switched to Home School before my old school went on the field trip. I plan to see it soon though. I heard it didn't do well, but it still looks enjoyable. I am currently reading the book, my mom bought it for me. I read all the differences between the book and the movie on Wikipedia, there is a crapload of them! But as long as the movie is good, I don't care.

I actually think alot of the things they left out in it could be made up for in a 2nd one. Roran could meet Katrina sometime after he left, Solembum could make a appearance, The Twins could be introduced as Durza's replacements, ect. But anywho, I enjoyed the movie, I think it worked out. Its actually something I could stand to watch over and over again. Murtagh's parts were longer than I expected them to be, and they did his character fairly well, it wouldn't have hurt them to put his scar on his back like it was in the book though. But his character ended in the movie much like it did in the book in my opinion. I also noticed during the fight with Durza that it looked like Durza slashed Eragon in the back, like what happened in the book. The whole thing with Arya leaving could be fixed, they could make her go back to the Varden to accompany Eragon to Ellesmera with her. Orik though, should have atleast made an appearance, but I guess they could introduce him into a 2nd movie also, but to fix all their mistakes, the 2nd movie would have to be about an hour or two longer than the first.
I loved the ending, with Galabatorix, it was great. And the graphics were amazing.

I've been avoiding this tread but now that I have seen it, here I am! Couldn't someone have told me there was no end?? I liked it though. The storyline was pretty predictable but that didn't matter. The special effects were stunning and the acting was good. I'm looking forward for the rest!

I haven't read the books (didn't know there were any until recently, actually), so when I saw it, I didn't have any expectations going in.
Keep in mind, I'm 26, and am sickeningly obsessed with LotR at the moment, so I did have some...bias.
The storyline itself wasn't half bad, though I thought they could've done a little better with the dragon. Her face looked a little too CGI to me.
What really got me was the line about 'the secret language of the elves'. The coworker I went to see it with actually had to put her hand over my mouth because I was laughing so hard, and there were third graders cutting me dirty looks.
After that, every time I heard 'Eragon', my mind snarkily replaced it with 'Aragorn'.
And the guy who played the sorcerer was probably the most un[/b]scary villain I've seen in a really long time.
I think what annoys me the most is that I could see it had the potential to be a good movie, and then it just...wasn't. It was like the low-buget, B version of Dragonheart or something.
*shrug* I dunno...I guess I just had higher expectations, after the massive niftiness that was the LotR trilogy. Guess not every director can pull the vision off that well, though.

Does any one have any spoilers in regards to the last book in the series? I enjoyed the Eldest much more and am now highly anticipating the last one.
I found some of the plot dynamics simliar, as well as some of the character's characteristics...that sounds funny...
