In the book, Aragorn looked in the Palantir and wrenched it from Saurons will, he showed Sauron himself not as the Ranger, but as the heir of Elendil, but when he came out of the room he looked terrible, white and ill, it was a huge struggle for him, I think he grappled with it a whole night, it was much quicker in the film.

Yes i think that was a cool part in the film. He did a good job by acting horrified when it showed arwen.

that was right after they proposed to go to the black gate... he did it to make sure sauron took the bait.

I believe I used to know that...so much of my LOTR knowledge has been forgotten in the months since I've been away. It's depressing
