Oh! I thought you ment Thranduil in the movie! Sorry!! ^_^! But I think they had to show us a 'lesser elf' to show differnt classes.

It seems like the lesser the class, the less shiny elves get. I mean, the Lady of the Wood was described so much more brighter and prettier then her followers. Is there anything known about Haldir's shinyness?

Mmmm I think in the movie, that was just to make them stand out more than the lower class Elves.

What you were talking about in the beggining was how Haldir's apperance was random.... before his arrival Elrond and Galadriel have a telepathic conversation. Galadriel says "Do we leave them to their own fate and sail across the sea? Or do we help them?" probably she 'forsaw' helms deep in her mirrior. Elrond how ever had the troops and sent them to helms deep.................. thats my view.

Well that is kinda true I think Haldir should get out of the movie by dying or somehow getting disappeared. PJ killed him because of that purpose. I guess if he had known he hurt Elf lovers, he would quickly reverse it anyhow I do not know why but I did not feel so bad about when he died at the middle of the battle. He was so unnecesarily appeared in there and has to be removed in such a way that people could not judge why he has been slain. Anyway, you know I ignore elves at all costs, right?? Men rulez!!! Was not his only duty to protect the border of Caras Caladhon against any attack of Uruks??
