Imagine Middle-earth without Elves ... how would that be like?

There wouldn't be any orcs, for one thing.

True *nods in agreement* ... people have been arguing with me in another forum about how Orcs were once Men *sigh*

((awesome sig, Haldir!!))
Middle-earth without elves... Alexei is right, there would be no orcs... But something tells me that there wouldn't be dwarves as well. Weren't they put back asleep untill the elves would awake first?
And there would be no light of Elendil, so Frodo would have been killed and eaten by Shelob.

Hmmm... No dwarves? Yeah, Dwarves were around after elves, but then the whole reason they existed was because Aule wanted to create a race of people of his own. So maybe dwarves would have still been around... but after men? Who knows. Aule might not have been inspired without elves.
As for the Ring, who knows if anyone would want it destroyed. Sauron could of fooled and corrupted any number of men. Without elves I would say Melkor and Sauron would have a much stronger hold over Middle-Earth.

It would be very much like planet Earth

You know, I didn't want to say that, but I was certainly thinking it.

If elves were gone, Gondor rule over the Middle Earth and I assure that that would be such a nice place.

And Boromir would have ruled, because Aragorn wouldn't have a Rivendell to get raised at.

Well, to be honest, I would 'kill myself' if the elves did not exsist in Middle Earth. Well, I have a comment. If the elves didnt exsist, wouldnt Sauron been weaker. Because I remember reading that he was blessed or something. I cant remember but he wouldnt have been so powerful.

Because I remember reading that he was blessed or something. I cant remember but he wouldnt have been so powerful. Yeah I agree with that. And like Alexei said, there wouldn't be any Orcs, therefore Sauron wouldn't have even been able to really function without them ... and the Rings too...

No, I don't think Sauron would have been weaker at all. Yeah, he wouldn't have had orcs, but he could have easily corrupted the men. He tricked most of the Numenoreans into thinking he was a good guy, and he had control over most men in the east.
