Normally you'd have to pay for hosting and you'd have to pay for a domain name, right? Well, if you have good HTML skills, and you are an experienced web designer that wants to host a fan website for a celebrity or film (hear that, LotR fans?), you may sign up at The Fan Sites Network, allow them to judge your coding/graphic-making abilities and if they like your work, you can get hosted by them... free of charge, and they'll start off by giving you 1 Gig space. You get your own cPanel, which is even better than what I have. With that, you can earn a free domain name (like.. www.yourowndomain.com , but free of normal yearly charge) and they'll buy one that you desire. And once you have that, you can host a personal site for yourself, even, and they wouldn't object. I've read everything over, and the only catch is that you have to put a google ad on your page, credit the host, and you have to update your main site at least once a week... other than that, it's all entirely free. I strongly recommend this to those brilliant coders/graphic designers here who want to create a fan site, but who can't pay for one. And if you don't know much HTML, but you want to sign up... learn some... practice... then go back! It'll still be there I've been to millions of sites hosted by them, and they're all beautiful and really well done.
