Well, at least it helps the slower people in the audience. If he hadn't said those things I would have to answer my dad's questions about what horn was blowing  I guess if you take a good look at all these lines he looks stupid. But when you're watching the movies that's all forgotten when he surfs down a staircase, or kills an oliphaunt. If Gimli had said all the obvious things people would take note. Then again, it might be Orlando ;D |

Good topic! I agree, most he said was quite obvious. But like Alexei stated, not all viewers were aware of the happenings and this helped maybe a little. Too bad it always had to be Legolas. Why did Gimli get all the more personal lines? Why did Legolas had to be so passive? Why did Aragorn always had that thoughful pout? There's something to say for all members of the fellowship I guess.
