Okay by now we know who everyones favourite movie character might be, but I was wondering who your favourite book character is. So even if you have fallen in love with either Craig or Orlando, who was it that was most appealing in the books? For me that was certainly not Legolas, allthough the movie version of him was superb! I think I'd go with Gandalf instead. He always seemed to make things right.

Like, seriously... out of the Lord of the Rings book, it was Haldir. He was SO cool and really nice in the book. I just wanted to jump right into the pages and give him a huge hug. He was wonderful... I wish we could have seen more of that Haldir in the films. Though the film-Haldir's snobbishness and arrogance was really sexy, I wish we could have gotten to see his warmer and friendly side. I have to really admit that I liked the book-Haldir more than the film-Haldir. Only by a mite though. I also liked the book-Lothlórien more than the film-Lothlórien... they were SO different.
A second favourite character would have to be Gildor and Glorfindel tied. They were so good-natured, and Gildor is so wise and cheerful. I was so mad when he didn't show up in the first film... same with Glorfindel's huge absence. And when he was replaced by Arwen! I wanted Glorfindel to greet them and to take Frodo to Rivendell. It just seems so much more fitting.
I actually preferred the book-Legolas to the film-Legolas (because he had hardly any meaningful dialog).

I loved Sam throughout all three books. I think it's because I can relate best with him, and it's great to see him grow through the story. The fight with Shelob is good, and so is the aftermath. He had a lot of moments I really enjoyed.

As in the movies my favorite book character is also Arwen. Something about her just touched me inside.. Besides from her I loved Legolas and Gimli, and the friendship they got going later on.

Hmmm...I agree with Haldir. There was something so interesting about Haldir in the book. He had SO much more dialogue. I sort of preffered book Legolas as well, although I don't think he would have been as handsome as movie-Legolas. But he was a little more interesting in the book, and he seemed to be more of a central character in the book, whereas in the movie, he kind of took on a side-kick appearance. He was kind of just there until they needed him to kill something large. ^_^

PIPPIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the books Pippin stuck out for me. I mean seriously you can't even say the name Pippin without getting a happy feeling and a smile. And so everytime I saw "Pippin" in the books I got excited. And he smokes pipeweed and drinks and he's a hobbit. And he carries through out the entire trilogy. So even though people are dying and evil things are happeing Pippin is still his hobbit self, merry and bringing joy. He just is a character that gave me hope throughout.

Peregrin Took, Gildor Inglorion, Glorfindel of The Golden Flower, Goldberry, Tom, Haldír, Legolas Greenleaf, Gimli Elf-Friend, Elrond Peredhil, Elrohir, Elladan and Glóin.
Is that enough?
