It is said that Sam left to Valinor as well... but how?
The ship Frodo was on was the last ship. And Legolas and Gimli went quite late with their own ship. I don't think Sam's lifespan would be that long to last until they left. Does anyone know more about that?

All I know is that after Rosie died, he and Elanor went to the Tower Hills and there he is last seen. But it is said that he himself built a ship and sailed over to Valinor...

So Sam actually build a ship by himself and sailed alone? Awww...

Wow, considering how much Sam hated boats, that was very brave and great of him!

But I thought that one can only get to Valinor by the means of a specially made Elven ship..

Thank you Haldir! To be honest, I find it rather hard to believe that Sam build a ship on his own, at old age. He is brave enough, but that's a little too brave, right?

I think it's a gap in the story...

He has to have done it in the Fourth Age, because Rosie can't have died in the Third Age .... because it had just ended after Frodo, Bilbo, Gandalf and the Elves went to Valinor. But at the start of the Fourth Age, Valinor disappeared beyond all our knowledge, so Sam could not have got to it.

Okay, I've got something for you: 1482 - Death of Mistress Rose, wife of Master Samwise, on Midyear's Day. On September 22 Master Samwise rides out from Bag End. He comes to the Tower Hills, and is last seen by Elanor, to whom he gives the Red Book, afterwards kept by the Fairbairns. Among them the tradition is handed down from Elanor that Samwise passed the Towers and went to the Grey Havens, and passed over the Sea, last of the Ring-bearers.
This is a quote from the LotR Appendices.

Ya I know that quote, thanks for sharing that with all of us, Erana But that still doesn't say much about the ship he went with, or the crew on board. That leaves us with just our own imagination I guess Since this is the only piece that says sómething about his departure.

It could be that he himself passed away and he was brought instantly to Valinor?

The quote does leave some room for such a theory, Haldir.

Yeah ... the only thing I don't like about Tolkien's books is that there are MANY cliff-hangers that cannot be filled in *sigh*

Perhaps he left with Legolas?
