Oooh okay nevermind ... I read somewhere a while ago and it said that Sam's was the last ship to sail to Valinor after Rosie died. He went to Valinor and was reunited with Frodo ... then after that, Valinor "vanished" out of all knowledge and thus began the Fourth Age.

Nice theory, but unfortunately it can't be right. Legolas left after Aragorn's death. And since he was a Dúnedain, Aragorn lived far longer then any hobbit could ever live (except for Gollum ofcourse).

Yes, but you could hardly call Gollum a hobbit after his shocking little transformation.

^that's very true ... and he had the Ring too, Eyalan Nice theory, but unfortunately it can't be right. Legolas left after Aragorn's death. And since he was a Dúnedain, Aragorn lived far longer then any hobbit could ever live (except for Gollum ofcourse). Perhaps I was wrong then. Samwise journeyed to Valinor in September in the year 61 of the Fourth Age. I misread ... no harm in that I suppose then Legolas and Gimli were the last to arrive in Valinor because Legolas passed over in the year 120 of the Fourth Age, unless anyone can tell me who arrived after them?

^Thank you! I thought Legolas sailed after Gimli died? I've got some good news for you: They sailed together! Gimli was the only dwarf that could ever sail to Valinor and he did. Together with his dear friend Legolas.

Gimli was apparently permitted because of the love he had for Galadriel, and she, being great among the wise, obtained that grace for him. He would still die, and so would the hobbits, because they do, but he would have been there quite a while.

Perhaps a bit off topic, but reading Tar-Amons' reply, I wonder how old dwarves usually get to be. Ideas anyone?

I thought dwarves got older then 100, but I have no idea what age exactly. My theory is based on the fact that Gimli and Legolas sailed over after King Elessar's death. He died in the year 120 (Fourth Age). So Gimli must have been at least 160 years old by then.
