For the few members that read the books before watching the movies; Did you also not trust Strider in the beginning? I thought he was really evil and was only a little convinced by Gandalf's letter.

Not really ... in the book he seemed a lot more nicer and friendlier than they portrayed him in the movie. But that's just how I saw him before the movie

Yeah, I figured he was probably a bad guy. I thought the letter coulda been forged.

In the beginning he was really scary and very threatening to Frodo and the gang.

I saw the movie before I read the book *Hangs head* Though my dad had insisted I read his copy of Fellowship before I went, and I didn't and I wish now that I had. In the movie I was still convinced for a good part of the movie he was going to turn against them, how wrong was I

Personally, I think he was way nicer in the movies, like you said, Eya. I have expected the letter to be forged! I didn't trust him at all. Actually, I remember thinking, "Yeah, this is nice, let's get to a Legolas scene!!"

I can only agree. After all, he was the first reason to go see the movies in the first place. I remember looking at a Legolas' picture before all movies came out and I was already enchanted. ;D When Agagorn was officially okay after the letter, he changed dramatically by the way! First he was like really scary and then he got like:"Oh, it's so hard to make friends nowadays!" No wonder with that attitude.

Ehh I never noticed Legolas at first... surprisingly. I was actually watching Frodo... and I used to think that the entire LotR cast was very ugly...

and I used to think that the entire LotR cast was very ugly... *gasp* Sadly I watched the movies before reading the books. And I didn't even like them at first (I just liked Frodo). I can't really remember what I first thought about Aragorn... hmmm....

yes sadly i also watched the movies before i read the books... but its not like i had a choice. When i first found out about the lord of the rings my famliy rented it. We watched the movie, i went online and figure out the books were first so i read them and then i read the hobbit and tryed the sil and read J.R.R. Tolkiens unfinished tales. I thought it was sorta wierd for Tolkien to use a name like strider. CHESSY, but when i found out it wasn't his real name it was better.
