Hey, all. Just joined the forum after scanning through a few different topics/threads and am looking forward to hanging around and seeing what goes on here.
I'm fairly new to the Tolkien bookverse, though I'm already a huge movieverse fan. (Except for the fact that Peter Jackson decided to kill off Haldir...the blasphemer!)
So...that said, please don't eat me alive if I'm not too informed on bookverse canon. I've recently gotten hold of the Silmarillion, the Unfinished Tales of Numenor and Middle Earth, the Languages of Middle-Earth, etc, but have barely begun to understand a lot of the history, considering how often people seem to aquire/change names.
Not really sure what else to put. General stuff: I'm a 26 year old Irish single parent, currently working customer service for a credit card company. (So, if you call to freak out over a late fee, be nice, because it might be me!)
Other than that...other fandoms I'm a slavering fan of include BtVS, Anita Blake, Merry Gentry, Highlander...pretty much anything in the realm of faery or to do with vampires.
I also read and write fanfiction, and do graphic art. (Manipulations, sketching, painting, etc.)
Anything else you guys want to know, feel free to ask.

Hi lasseg! Welcome welcome! So glad to have another Haldir fan here.. I sort of do graphic art.. mine are a bit messy though ;D And yeah I know what you're talking about when you say the Middle-earth history's a tad confuzzling.. I'm reading the Silmarillion very very slowly and trying to register it all properly!  Anyway.. welcome aboard and I hope to see you around often! =) ~Haldir |

*snickers* Glad to know I'm not the only one reading the Sil and going 'mwah?'.
At last count, I think I had 30+ pages of notes from the Silmarillion alone, not even counting the ones I started recently from the Unfinished Tales of Numenor & Middle Earth, or the Languages of Middle Earth. *whimpers pathetically*
I think if it weren't for Sulien's corrections to my butchery of Sindarin (because DragonFlame is SO unreliable), I'd be getting hate mail reviews of my current story. Probably IN Sindarin, just to drive the point home. Lol.
On a totally unrelated topic, how on earth did you get your avatar to work? I pasted the URL for the one I made, but it absolutely refuses to show up, regardless of whether I have it set to 'none' or one of the defaults. *confuzzled*

Good to see someone that is also 25+ lol. No worries about what you know about the books, it seems you have read a lot more then I have ;D (and look at my ridiculous postcount).

I've seen the little listing under everyone's names, but have no clue what it's all about.
