Ecthelion of The Fountain slew Gothmog, Lord of The Balrogs, and got slain too.
The other Ecthelions are two different Stewards in the 2nd age, possibly 3rd, i'm not sure.

Yeah the one that killed the balrog was the only one i had heard about. Did that go down in the 1st or 2nd age?
