I must say, I'm surprised no one else has voted for Varda! She has always been my favourite of the Valar, so grand and majestic. She created the stars, and is hallowed by the ELves. What's not to like?

I voted for Lórien, too.

I haven't read a lot of his history, beyond the very beginning of the Silmarillion and where he's mentioned after the whole Song of Illuvatar deal, but I figure anyone who had Lothlórien named after them had to be awesome.

I've been looking for mentions of Lórien further into the Sil, but my eyes just about glaze over trying to figure out all the different names for one person, nevermind look for mentions of five aliases at the same time. Lol.

All I really remember was that his true name was Irmo, and he was the brother of Mandos/Námo and Nienna, and married Estë. I vaguely remember that Lórien was the master of dreams and visions, but that's about it.

Oh! And didn't he have something to do with Varda allowing night to exist, because sleep and rest had been banished from the earth?

No, no...not like that. Rather, Lórien was part of why Varda allowed night to exist. I vaguely remember something about Lórien and Estë convincing Varda that Middle-Earth needed a time of rest and peace.
