The Rules and Guidelines are pretty simple and - for now - are not very hard to follow. If you can't follow rules as simple as these, you have major issues.
Golden Rule:: You MUST have respect for each and every member of this forum or you will be booted.
Major Rules::
1) Prejudice canNOT be tolerated. Members who are caught uttering a prejudiced comment (be it racist, sexist, etc.) will be permanently banned and deleted (well... depending on the severity).
2) NO inappropriate comments or posts. Any R-Rated material (aka, pornographic/sexual pictures or text) or posts will be deleted and the member who posted it will be permanently banned and deleted.
3) Please keep this a PG environment, because there may be young members here as well.
General::
1) Absolutely NO member bashing.
2) Please respect your Mods and your Admins because we always do our best to make things fun for you.
3) Respect others' opinions and debate topics in a nice and civil way. We allow debates to take place but please try to keep it happy?
4) Please keep this forum in a kind and warm environment so that others may feel welcome.
5) No swearing. If you are caught swearing, you will receive an automatic warning.
6) No posting excessives such as frequent caps.
7) No trolling or flaming allowed ... we want to make this a homely place for everyone.
8) A little off-topicness is not going to kill us... we all do it. But if it gets WAY too extreme, then be prepared to get a happy little mod warning.
9) Please TRY to type and spell properly. It is clear to us if you actually try to... any member caught typing in chatspeak or leet will be given a warning.
10) Inactive members will be sent an e-mail and their membership will be canceled within five days of the sent e-mail.
LotR Topics::
1) A very brainless thing to do would be to post insults about LotR or bash LotR. If you do hate LotR then please do not bother registering.
2) Do not talk about things other than LotR in the LotR topics, because they are named 'LotR Discussion' for a reason.
Non-LotR Topics::
1) Religion dicussions are allowed. However, if you are only discussing religion and not bashing others' then it can be let by.
2) Politics are allowed, but if an argument breaks out then the thread will simply be locked after a fair warning.
3) Do not bash something very blatantly and brainlessly. If you do not like something, then say so in a civil and appropriate manner with proper reasoning.
Signatures and Avatars::
1) Limit of two banners - max. 700x150 pixels each banner.
2) No more than three banners are allowed in your signature. *some people have slower internet connection...*
3) Avatar size - max. 100x100 pixels.
4) Animated signatures and avatars are allowed.
Contests::
1) A contest consits of peoples' hard work and dedication. If you start a contest, keep in mind that you must carry on with it until it is over.
2) Contest entries and topics must be appropriate and clean.
Advertising::
1) Only members who have joined Elven-Runes.com and have their account activated have permission to advertise their site in the "Your Site" section. If you are a "Guest" and you advertise your site then your thread WILL be censored, locked and/or deleted by one of our staff members.
Please just follow these simple rules and we'll all have a great time
