I'm thinking of buying the LotR Risk game, for I enjoy the original Risk game very much.. Does anyone have the LotR-version of Risk? Is it more fun to play then the original Risk? Because I don't want to end up having an expensive good looking game in the drawer and still be playing the 'common' Risk game, because the LotR-version is too easy or too hard to play.

I've got it, and it's really fun. It's very similar to the normal Risk game, but the difference is that you have a map of ME and little miniatures of ME creatures and folks instead of normal armies.

I have it too. I generally play it like normal risk, rather than the way they tell you to in the instructions though.

A friend of mine has it, and I've played it. I always just play normal Risk on it, no confusing special rules for me, thanks. Really though, once I got through the excitement of taking over Middle Earth, I prefer regular Risk's map for game purposes.

Wow thanks for the fast comments everyone! I get really excited reading about cute little miniatures But what Alexei just mentioned, that was just what I was afraid of. That I would be ending up playing the original still for game purposes I mean. Sigh.. well I can always add it to my wish list for Christmas I guess... ;D Little miniatures are great!

I never win at Risk either, but I'm sure I will someday.... *sigh* Perhaps getting myself a LotR edition might be a good idea after all. Maybe it's easier for me because the landmarks make more sense for LotR fanatics like me? And I don't have other LotR addictive people among my friends... hmm this might just work out ;D

No one really likes how long that game lasts so thats probably the same reasons.

^Hmm, that's a true. I think the longest I've played was three hours and that was because my aunt and my sister wouldn't give up, or make an alliance against me, so it was everyone for themselves!

sometimes we make deals and trade armys for places and stuff like that. I like it when we play it but uaslly if we do only three people play. Also sometimes i forget the rules making the game longer.
