This, just like the Sindarian Speaking Thread is a thread in which you will converse in Quenya. So just type in your Quenya and please put the translation in brackets. For those of us (like me!) that are generally pathetic in Elvish and use Elvish Useful Phrases links, we need all the help we can get. So please post the translation.

Elen síla lúmenn' omentielvo! Essenya Luthien. Hanyan Eldaiva. Tenn' enquetielva! (A star shines on the hour of our meeting. My name is Luthien. I understand Elvish. Until we speak again!) I think Quenya is so beautiful, but then again I am an appreciator of language.

Quenya's my favorite of the Elven languages, I used to know a lot of it...but then high school came about and brain washed me pretty much. I remember getting tricked by those Grelvish sites that claim they have true Elvish, but in reality aliens from the now-not planet-Pluto were sending brainwaves through the DSL which enter into the modem which corrupt the sound bytes which affect the Grelvish words on the screen and make the veiwer think he'll be able to eat bananas for the rest of his career in the Antartica Militia ! with Galadriel as their Brigadier General of course. Er...sorry, it's late and today I did 1 1/2 hours of typing up notes, like 4 doing algebra II, and the rest reading studiously and eating emotionally so I needed to get something out of my system, teehee. Anyway back to Grelvish, it's only very loosely based on Tolkien's Elvish and me and my friends were tricksied by it. Grelvish...agarweanrauko nwalma nin.[Grelvish...that blood-stained demon tortments me. Dramtic I know, it was meant for an rpg actually, but lovingly adapted for yall's sake =)] My Quenya name is Saraire...it means bitter, lovely I know ;D. For a tragic story I made up I used the phrase "An vanwa Asuiello deniá." [Let us morn for the lost life of Aduial.] And "Ost mi dagnir!" [Battle in the fortress!] I think they sound kinda pretty, no? Ai! Nin nolë na siquelle Quenyaello...Keluvament si. [Alas my knowledge of this Quenya is fading...I will go now. (the translation actually doesn't match the pronouns and the verb "will" and "this", but for the moment I'm too tired to do anything about it *faints away into dreamland*)] Tis my bedtime =)
