I love the Silmarillion. But you have to be in a different mindset than LotR to read it. It's a hard book to read.

Sorta... the middle part? I had to stop for a while, you know, to let my brain rest. I've been reading LotR instead. XD

my favorite is and stays the fotr i love the beginning of it when it all seems so innocent for for the hobbits when they dont know about the ring yet and the whole scene with Pippin frodo and Sam and Merry with old Bombadil is so funny when he rescued them from the tree old willow and takes them to his house

I'm going to have to go with the Silmarillion. Some of the parts in it are pretty moving. First time I read it I had trouble taking everything in, but I went and read it again and it was just "wow".

I agree with everything you all have said! Good luck with the Silm FoaT! It's a great book, just a little... difficult. Have read it one and a half times meself You kinda have to read it twice, like Alexei, to take everything in.

I agree with the general public on this. FotR captivated me. Both movie and book. The movie had me drooling for the second one.
