When Galadriel was saying goodbye to the Fellowship, she sang this really pretty poem ... I love the words::
---------------------------------- I sang of leaves, of leaves of gold, and leaves of gold there grew: Of wind I sang, a wind there came and in the branches blew. Beyond the Sun, beyond the Moon, a foam is on the sea, And by the strand of Ilmarin there grew a golden Tree. Beneath the stars of Ever-eve in Eldarmar it shone, In Eldarmar beside the walls of Elven Tirion. There long the golden leaves have grown upon the branching years, While here beyond the Sundering Seas now fall the Elven tears.
O Lorien! the Winter comes, the bear and leafless day; The leaves are falling in the stream, the River flows away. O Lorien! Too long have i dwelt upon this Hither shore, And in a fading crown have twined the golden elanor.
But if of ships i now should sing, what ship would come to me, what ship would bear me ever back across so wide a sea? ----------------------------------
It's sucha lovely poem!

That is really pretty! A bit desperate and sad too, which make it even better!

I concur, a voice singing that would be super awesome. That poem should have been put in the movies. It would have been so cool to see sung by non other than Cate!!!

Beautiful! Every poem/song from Middle-earth is awesome in it's own way (even ones like the Bath Song ;D) but this one is particularly loverly.
Having never heard Cate sing, I've got no comment weather it would be good or not. I can't how a person would sing by their speaking voice...

True ... my singing voice is completely different from my speaking voice ... so maybe Cate Blanchett would have sung it very nicely!

Yep! Or it could have been even worse than one would think. Ye never know (until she sings something.. anyone heard her sing?)

I wish they'd make it an actual song..

Yeah that would be rather lovely ... if only *sighs*
I think they should have added more songs for the characters in the movie to sing, though... There weren't enough!

I concur! Especially since the book was just loaded with great songs. They just need tunes! When I try to make up melodies for them they just don't work at all... anyone made any good ones up for any?

Totally! Someone should write music to all the LOTR songs and then put it all on a track and put it up for sale so LOTR fanatics/addicts like ourselves could buy it.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if someone's done that already. *looks around hopefully*
