Durng the whole movie Return of the King, Eowyn wore several dresses on different occasions. Which one is your favourite? Beacon dress: Victory dress: Riding dress: Coronation dress: Shieldmaiden dress: Dernhelm dress:

I remain voteless because I like her Riding one and her Dernhelm one both equally

I like her white dress that would be the coronation one. I love her when she laughs better than fighting or being desperate

I voted the Beacon dress myself. Because I love the many detailes on it, but the dress stays simple and very feminine nonetheless.

I really enjoy her riding dress, It has alot of very subtle detail to it that didn't come out in the movies.
I made the White Gown from the Two Towers, but then added a couple of my own touches to it since I cannot sew so whatever I did was either stiched by hand or...glued.
It was made for "Triloghy Tuesday" which was watching both extended editions in the theatre and then "Return of the King" on the day it premiered at Midnight, I seriously do not suggest sitting THAT long in costume. I have worn it to a couple cons since, but its slightly too complicated to wear if alot of walking is going to be involved.

^I second that. As for the dresses, this is another of those blasted decisions. I don't even wear dresses and I love all of hers. I'm going to say Durnhelm, but I do really love all of them. They are really beautiful, and I like them better than Arwen's. (Not that Arwen's weren't lovely )

Alright, Finally got the site working! These were all taking at SFX, a (semi) close Con mostly devoted to anime but also covers Sci-fi and fantasy. It was funny becuase I went with two friends, and we each had had a costume from each category There was Steph who was Padme (Star Wars) myself covering Fantasy (LOTR) and Leigh in her anime Costume (Witch Hunter Robin) As you can see from that picture, I had alot of trouble with that belt, all day long it was falling down and that was actually taken as we were running back towards the bathroom so that we could get changed into our street clothes again. The dress itself, I bought a thrift store and the skirt had 3 layers and the top one I cut off to make the sleeves, which I made waaaay too big and I would make them more fitted next time, but again...I really do not know how to sew, at all, It was by some grace that they got on in the first palce. Another problem with the dress is while it fit perfectly everywhere else, it was too tight across the bust and I could never get it zipped all the way up the back, so I decided that I would lace it up...which didn't work so well, but it held as long as I didn't stoop. People at cons are so nice, they are understand if you are having issues. There was this one woman in the ladies room who was helping me as well as her own daughter get ready. Although my costume was not as eleborate as this one so I can't complainAs this was being taken the man was going "You look very beatiful!" and I was just like "I don't know who you are, but it means alot coming from a Sith Lord!" I think that next time I make a LOTR costume, I am going to work on Eowyns Shieldmaiden Ccostume. I own my own sword given to me as a Christmas present by my ex a few years back Pic One"]http://www.petridish.net/pics/17933/sword%20007.jpg] Pic OneDetail of hilt The only problem is that most cons, understandably, don't let you carry weapons, and this sword is very heavy and very sharp, it could do damage. Its a shame since most of the costumes I make, do require some kind of weapon, real or fake as part of the detail.

Hilarious! That sure is a beautiful costume, Anwyn! And it sounds like wearing it is just an adventure on it's own.

Thank you!
It is an adventure! LOL
The fabric is just as such that on a really warm you are passing out from heat exhausation, but if the weather is really cold you freeze your arse off.
By the end of the day, convention...whatever, I honestly cannot wait to get the damn thing off ;D

I am SUCH a Star Wars fan ;D It gets even better, I am the chapter rep of a local group of Star Wars fans called YJN...or Young Jedi Niagara. Though we have not been active since the release of Revenge of the Sith, In the past we did a ton of events in order to raise awareness and funds for a local womans shelter. How so you ask? By dressing up of course! This is a photo taken for a newspaper when they released the special edition DVD's. I am the Bariss Offee/Only female And if there isn't anything better than a couple of Geeks Its alot of Geeks getting together in Costume*G* That was taken before a Parade that we do every year, but I should say that not all shown are from Niagara, quite a few came up from New York just to march with us. We are doing the Parade again on the 27th, Though I am borrowing a generic Jedi costume since my Bariss costume is in bits everywhere.
