What do you think happened after Legolas and Gimli sailed into the West?
My theory: Gimli would have died soon after, and he was Legolas' best buddy. So Elves can die of a broken heart.....
But that theory is too depressing. I'd probably rather believe one of your theories, so... what are they?

Ahh so Legolas died after Gimli then? Interesting ... but it's very possible, since Dwarves aren't immortal.

I know, me too Gimli... dead... nooooooooooooooo....... but we can still save Legolas' life, if we get another theory (we could save Gimli too, if the theory was wild enough )

I think Gimli was granted an extra long life in return of his services! How old do you think he got? He was first lord of the glittering caves untill King Elessar died (and he lived for a very long time as well!), and after that he left for Valinor. And Gimli wan't the youngest member of the Fellowship to start out with!

So do we just stick to that? Gimli was granted with long life... by Galadriël according to El... No let's take it a step further ;D Elves have strange rules. We all know Arwen gave up her immortality for her Aragorn. I always thought it was weird Arwen and Luthien had to make a choice. Thát is not a choice, that is blackmail! To decide wheter someone have to live or die is god-modding, right? Now here it comes: Could it be.. that Arwen's spot in eternity was filled with Gimli, who after all deserved it most ofcourse, and became immortal in her place? As I pointed out before, Gimli lived a ridiculously long life, even for dwarven standards. And nothing is ever written about Gimli's death in contrary to the rest of the Fellowship! Merry and Pippin died in Gondor, Aragorn as well, Arwen die in Lothlorien.. etcetera etcetera. I don't think Gimli died at all. I think the elves, with their strange god-modding ways, decided so. I mean, Galadriël wás very fond of him, wasn't she?

Yeah that is really true!! So Arwen's immortality was sorta given to Gimli! How about Frodo and Bilbo tho? Correct me if I'm wrong ... but I might have overlooked something about THEM dying...?
